Nine cars prepared for James Bond SPECTRE filming stolen in Germany

Out of the nine cars stolen, five happen to be customized Range Rover Sport vehicles prepared by the specialists of the Land Rover Training Centre at Neuss near Dusseldorf for the filming, which started recently in the Alps. But shortly before being transported to the location the SUVs were stolen along with four other cars. The total value of the stolen cars has been estimated at around 800,000 euros.  Police haven’t been successful in  tracing the thieves. With the cars stolen, the shooting has been put on hold and new vehicles will be built for the shooting.

“Car thefts are unfortunately an industry-wide problem, since European legislation requires that automakers must make the vehicle data of its diagnostic system available. This is addressed by Jaguar Land Rover to the appropriate authorities to introduce changes,” said a spokeswoman for Jaguar Land Rover Germany post the incident.

With so many anti-theft measures taken by manufacturers, it is a mystery how thieves got away with nine vehicles. What do you have to say about this ? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
