If the blokes from Automotive News Europe are to be believed, the new, next-generation Linea should hit the roads by 2015. Some hitherto unknown details about the new generation Linea have been revealed by Fiat’s Turkish partner, Tofas. The company confirmed that the new Linea will go into production in the second half of 2015. No other details were revealed specifically about the new Linea, but an investment plan of $520 million was uncovered to bump up the annual production to 5.8 lakh units by 2023.

The company is also reported to be working on reducing the cost of the new generation machine so as to make it more competitive in developing markets. The next-gen Linea is slightly off target from its production schedule – at least for the fans and potential buyers. Brazil, which is one of the markets for the Linea, expected a new gen car for the 2014 Model Year, but has been given only a face lifted version with some additional chrome.

In India, Fiat is trying to keep the Linea relevant by introducing the cut price Classic version (review coming soon). The face lifted version of the Linea has been caught testing several times and is expected soon. However, based on the news we just shared with you, the new generation Linea would be available in India only by late 2015.

Stay tuned for more updates
