Next Generation Audi Q7 to be Lighter. Caught Testing

News keeps pouring in about the upcoming new generation Audi Q7. It has recently emerged that many weight saving measures would be taken in the development of the next gen Q7.

The good folks at Worldcarfans recently spotted a test mule of the new Q7. Audi have been testing the new car in the current gen Q7’s body shell.

However, it is being said that next gen Q7 will sport more muscular styling and a lesser overhangs. The tail pipe on the car seen was considerably longer than the body and it simply means that the new Q7 will be longer.

The new gen Q7 will make use of the MLB-evo platform. This would mean that the new Q7 would be as much as 350kgs lighter than the current generation.

Audi will make use of steel, aluminium and carbon fiber for the chassis. All these weight savings would translate into more agility and efficiency for the Audi flagship.
