New Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the most powerful muscle car ever

Trust the Americans to come up with names that sound fast and aggressive. Their Mission to the Moon, Apollo, the iconic Corvette, the movie Terminator, the Mustang, Shelby Cobra and the list is just endless. A friend of mine thinks, even the cuss words they utter in Hollywood movies sound cool, rather than sounding like a cuss word.

Now one of such names is the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, which sounds like a missile sitting on it’s launchpad, ready to be fired. This one could even go like one, with it’s supercharged 6.2-litre, HEMI Hellcat engine, it produces 707 bhp and 881 Nm of torque, which is more than the Lamborghini Aventador. Dodge calls this the most powerful Challenger ever, it’s most powerful V8 ever and the most powerful muscle car ever.

The 6.2 litre Supercharged Hellcat engine is Dodge and SRT’s first application of V8 Supercharger technology. The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT will come standard with two keyfobs. A red one, which will unleash all those 707 horses, while the black key-fob will reduce the engine output to around 500 bhp. Wonder what happens if the person whom you handover the black keyfob paints it red. The car puts all the power down via the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, while the interiors sport a retro feel, taking inspiration from the classic 1971 Challenger.

Here’s a video they have released, it has America written all over it.
