British car maker Bentley has launched the new Flying Spur V8 in India. The car has been priced at INRÂ 3.10 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Flying Spur V8 is slotted below the Flying Spur flagship W12 model.
The new Flying Spur V8 is propelled by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol mill which churns out 500 bhp of power and 660 Nm of peak torque. Power is channelled to all the four wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The car dismisses the 0-100 kmph in a mere 5.2 seconds and goes on to a claimed top whack of 295 kmph.
Bentley incorporated the Flying Spur V8 with cylinder deactivation technology. While cruising on highways, four cylinders of the V8 are shut down to save fuel. Bentley claims a tank range of 700 kms, with the fuel efficiency improving from 5 Kpl (city) and 8.5 Kpl (highway) to 5.95 Kpl and 10.2 respectively.
On the exterior front, the Flying Spur V8 does not differ too much from its W12 sibling. Styling differences include newly designed chromed exhaust finishers and a red center to the Bentley Wings. The front lower bumper grills have been given a matt black treatment. The interiors are a combination of leather, wood and chrome.
