After the success of the Hero Splendor iSmart in the Indian market, Hero is readying a Super Splendor iSmart for 2016. The upcoming Super splendor will reportedly be showcased at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo to be held in Delhi while the launch is expected to follow soon after. The aesthetics of the Super Splendor will be inspired from the current generation Splendor iSmart.

The 2016 Hero Super Splendor iSmart 125cc (i3S) will have a host of features such as a redesigned fuel tank, new side panels, new split grab handles, new tail-piece, the hero badge on the handlebar and a three pod instrument cluster including the i3 logo. The instrument cluster’s left pod features neutral, side stand and high beam indicators along with the i3S logo on the upper right hand side corner being the only new addition. The pod in the middle that features the speedometer, odometer and trip meter display remains unchanged. The pod on the right side features a vertical designed fuel indicator instead of the horizontal design on the current generation Super Splendor. The turn indicators as we can see in the spy image, is below the 3 pod instrument cluster as opposed to being above the 3 pod cluster in the current generation model.

The new Hero Splendor iSmart is expected to be powered by the same 124.7cc air cooled, 4 stroke, single cylinder engine with the new i3S start-stop technology being the only difference. The bike, if it retains the same engine, will have a maximum power output of 9.12 PS at 7,000 rpm while maximum torque will be 10.35 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Transmission duties will be carried out by the conventional 4 speed gearbox.

The 2016 Hero Super Splendor iSmart is anticipated to return a mileage of 85- 90 km per litre and we can expect it to be priced under Rs. 60,000 which would be close to the Rs. 59,900 price tag of its rival, the Honda CB Shine SP.
