Mitsubishi Mirage Ecocar might be on its way to India

We are overjoyed with the fact that Jap biggie, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, is finally waking up to the increased car demand in our country. And don’t we Indians love Jap automobiles? After having expensive cars like the Outlander and Pajero Sport in its portfolio for Indian market, Mitsubishi is now considering launching the Mirage Ecocar hatchback in India. This car is powered by a 1.2-litre engine and the car was recently introduced at the Bangkok motor show that was held in March. What makes this car even more sensible for an Indian launch are some of its key features- good manoeuvrability and space to seat five adults but being compact from outside. What makes the deal evens sweeter is that the car’s petrol motor is expected to return 20kpl. As per Masahiko Ueki, executive officer and corporate general manager (Asia and Asean), Mitsubishi is currently exploring a second manufacturing site in India. Along with all this, the Jap car maker continues to ponder over its future with Indian partner Hindustan Motors and is not sure if they might have to break up anytime soon.
