Mercedes Benz India, the Indian unit of the German luxury car maker, will launch the latest iteration of its iconic off road vehicle, the G-Wagon, in India this month.

The Mercedes G-Class, aka the G-Wagon, is the longest serving car series in the history of the popular car brand. The G-Wagon is known to be among the most capable of the off-roaders on this earth and the car has remained largely the same since at least 30 years. The car continues to sport ladder frame chassis and a boxy exterior styling.

The India bound 2013 G63 AMG, the latest variant of the G Class, will replace the G55 AMG that is on sale in India. The Mercedes Benz G63 AMG was unveiled in April 2012 and made its public debut at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing.

Powering the G63 AMG is a 5.5L V8 with a max power output of 544 PS@5500rpm and a peak torque figure of 760 Nm@5000rpm. The engine is mated to the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-TRONIC seven speed transmission.

2013 Mercedes G63 AMG comes loaded with features like the ECO Start/Stop function, AMG high performance brakes, AMG Sport Exhaust System, ESP, HOLD and ESELECT.

Inside the tough looking exteriors is an interior draped in luxurious designer leather upholstery and loaded with all sorts of gizmos one may expect inside a high end SUV.
