If you are someone who loves and admires premium cars but the thought of buying one brings out the accountant in you, settling down for a pre-owned premium machine does seem like a bright idea. Adding fuel to that fire is one of the oldest premium car brands in India, Mercedes-Benz. The German car manufacturer is all set to announce the launch of a separate brand for pre-owned cars this month.
Taking note of the changing consumer tastes and dynamics in a country which is no longer shy to live it up, Mercedes-Benz has realized that customers in India are now demanding quality products in the largely unorganized pre-owned car segment. The premium car-maker forecasts a rapid growth in country’s pre-owned car segment, describing it as “next growth story” in the luxury car business. Mercedes-Benz India, MD & CEO Eberhard Kern said, “The growth rate in pre-owned car business in India is phenomenal. We have seen 45 per cent growth in pre-owned car business this year. In two weeks time, Mercedes-Benz India is going to launch a new pre-owned car brand, we will take the next big step in pre-owned car business.”
Mercedes-Benz would be looking at both metro and non-metro cities for the sale of premium segment cars with a focus on increasing product portfolios and bringing latest technology to India. They would continue doing the pre-owned car business with existing dealers considering it will offer very effective trading price to customers.
