A Meaner Porsche Panamera diesel headed to Frankfurt

We reported in detail when German performance car manufacturer Porsche unveiled the 2014 Porsche Panamera (facelift) at the Auto Shanghai 2013 held earlier this year. Back then we reported that we were surprised to know that no changes were made to the car. However, it has now emerged that the Panamera facelift will get an updated diesel engine at the Frankfurt Motor Show that is scheduled to be held next week.

As per the good folks at Autocar UK, the Panamera is slated to get a more powerful version of the Audi sourced 3.0 litre V6 motor . Also, this motor will have lesser CO2 emissions and will be more fuel efficient. Talking about the bump in power, the engine will have 50PS more and will have a max power output of 300PS. Also, it will have 650Nm of torque, 100 Nm more than the current motor. Thanks to the increased power, the carmaker has also updated the 8-speed ZF dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The updated Panamera will be now 0.8 seconds quicker to 100kmph will have a top whack of 258kph (current model has a top speed of 249 kmph).

The updated Panamera diesel has a fuel efficiency of 44.1mpg, 0.6mpg more than current model.
