Maruti Suzuki: Exports Drive Growth Amidst Domestic Dip
Maruti Suzuki clocked 1,80,077 units in May 2025, up 3.2% YoY compared to 1,74,551 units in May 2024. The growth, however, was largely fuelled by exports.
- Domestic PV sales dropped by 5.6% to 1,35,962 units
- Mini segment (Alto, S-Presso) fell 31.5% to 6,776 units
- Compact cars (Baleno, Swift, Dzire, etc.) declined by 9.6%
- Ciaz posted only 458 units, down from 730
- Utility Vehicles (Brezza, Grand Vitara) rose slightly to 54,899 units
- Eeco van grew by 12.5% to 12,327 units
- Exports jumped 80% YoY to 31,219 units
Total April–May FY26 sales stand at 3,59,866 units, up 5% YoY.

Mahindra: UVs, Exports Power Strong Growth
Mahindra clocked 84,110 units, up 17% YoY. It continues to ride high on UV demand.
- UV sales grew 21% YoY to 52,431 units
- Scorpio-N, Thar, XUV700, and XUV 3XO are major contributors
- Exports rose 37% to 3,651 units
- 3-wheelers and select CVs also posted growth

Tata Motors: EV Sales Flat, Overall Down
Tata Motors posted 70,187 units, a 10% YoY drop over 76,766 units in May 2024.
- Domestic PV sales fell 11% to 41,557 units
- EV sales (domestic + export) were flat at 5,685 units

Toyota: SUV & MPV Strategy Pays Off
Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 30,864 units, up 22% YoY over 25,273 in May 2024.
- Domestic sales at 29,280 units, exports at 1,584 units
- Cumulative Apr–May sales: 58,188 units, up 27% YoY
