Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, Stuttgart, Germany along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC), a Daimler Company, launched its DICV manufactured FUSO trucks in Bangladesh, adding it as the 6th strategic market since exports commenced in May 2013. Bangladesh is a key market for the DICV-made FUSO trucks in Asia, as the products are designed and developed to fulfill the demand for reliable and strong trucks. The trucks will be sold through an exclusive dealer, Rangs Motors Limited, authorized distributor of MFTBC in Bangladesh, these trucks already are sold in in the markets of Sri Lanka, Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, with more markets to be added from both Asia and Africa.

The Fuso truck range is built at DICV’s Oragadam facility, comprising of 5 models, spanning Medium/Heavy (25 – 49 tonnes referred to as ‘FJ’, ‘FO’ & ‘FZ’) and Medium-duty (9 – 16 tonnes referred to as ‘FA’ & ‘FI’). These machines have undergone rigorous testing under the most extreme driving conditions, to ensure class leading reliability, strength and fuel-efficiency.

FUSO has strong presence in Africa in over 35 markets, while sales have doubled in the first quarter of 2014, compared to the same period in 2013. with the addition of new products in its portfolio, FUSO offers its customers a wider choice of trucks which are fuel efficient, reliable, robust and backed by a strong distribution network.

FUSO has a clear view on the growth potential in Africa and is preparing to extend its footprint. Daimler Trucks Asia expects to gain additional growth momentum in the future markets on top of the current existing markets from its new Asia Business Model introduced in 2013, this new business model brings together the strengths of MFTBC and DICV under the common roof of Daimler Trucks Asia.
