KTM confirms new parallel-twin engine in its annual report

KTM 2015 AGM - 1

A parallel twin cylinder powered KTM has been in talks for quite some time with the speculation of a middle-weight motorcycle rolling out from Mattighofen plant very soon. A spy image of what is speculated to be a 800cc parallel twin cylinder propelled KTM got most of us excited and we have glued ourselves to the chairs, metaphorically, by controlling our excitement after the recent announcement of KTM’s annual report.

KTM, in its recently concluded annual meeting confirmed that it is developing a new motorcycle platform based on a revolutionary 2-cylinder engine design, which will make a substantial contribution toward opening up new market segments.

The two-wheeler maker did not reveal much details about the displacement of the new twin-cylinder engine. The new motor is expected to propel a naked roadster along with a fully faired model, similar to its Duke and RC series of motorcycles in the entry-level displacement segment.

The new twin cylinder motorcycle will fill the void between the single cylinder 690 Duke and the massively powerful 1290 Super Duke. We hope to hear more news about the upcoming power plant and the motorcycles that it would power very soon. Meanwhile, share your views about the new upcoming parallel twin motor from KTM through the comments section below.
