Justin Bieber is moving up from a Ferrari 458 Italia to a LaFerrari, because why not

Not content with his Ferrari 458 Italia, a chromed-out-to-blind-you Fisker Karma, and a bevy of other supercars, Justin Bieber has just ordered a LaFerrari. The news comes to us courtesy of USA Today, where the popstar was asked the question that’s on everyone’s minds, “Speaking of driving cars quickly, what are you driving these days?” His answer, “I’m still driving my Ferrari. It’s a 458 Italia, and I just got the LaFerrari, it should be coming soon.”

You probably already know this but it is worth iterating that the LaFerrari costs $1.4 million, out of the showroom, in the US of A. It is amazing what you can do when you are a singing sensation worth $200 million. Reports estimate that the 21-year old earned $80 million just last year, so it isn’t like he’s going to notice the pinch in his pocket anytime soon.

That sort of money also allows him to indulge in whims and fancies, like painting up his 458 in whatever colour tickles his fancy. It came out of the showroom white, then he had it painted ice blue, then changed it to black. Like we said, it’s your own car, so who is Ferrari to argue, right? As long as you don’t go all Deadmau5 and turn it into a Purrari, Ferrari seems to be okay with it.

The LaFerrari is Ferrari’s most extreme hypercar yet, if you don’t count the track-only beast that is the FXX K. With 950hp of power on tap from its 6.3-litre V12 hybrid engine, it is a proper screamer that could be much deadlier than the relatively tame 458 in the hands of the inexperienced. We aren’t even going to comment on Bieber’s driving misdemeanors in the past; that task is well left to TMZ and Perez Hilton.

As with all Ferrari hypercars, you just don’t have to be filthy rich to possess one; you actually have to have connections with the brands, and owned a Ferrari in the past. Bieber sure ticks that second box, but we aren’t sure about the first.

Or maybe it is just our jealousy seeping through.
