It has now emerged that Jaguar could launch a Targa variant of the F-Type in near future. This revealation comes from Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum.

Speaking to Auto Express, Callum said “We’re considering it, but it’s not definite.” He further added,“The issue with the Targa is volume. If you think of Porsche, 10 percent of its cars are Targa, 10 percent of ours is less than theirs.

Not much is known about the proposed F-Type Targa variant but the car, if ever it makes into production, would sport a retractable hard top, much like the one on the Porsche 911 Targa.

Callum also revealed that hiscompany is working on “three or four cars at the moment.” While he refused from divulging more details, it is pretty much for sure that these cars are the upcoming entry-level Jaguar sedan, mid-size crossover, XJ facelift and next-generation XF.
