Hyundai seems to be on its way to topple the established players in the C-segment from their top position. The recently launched all new Hyundai Verna has met with an incredible response from prospective customers. The company has booked in excess of 5000 Verna cars, days after it was launched on the 11th of may 2011.
It’s notable that Hyundai have not priced the car very aggressively (price ranging between Rs 6.99-10.74 lakhs), with the top end variant’s price surpassing that of the rest of the players in the field. However, with its futuristic looks, great engine options and liberal features list, the new Verna seems to have become a hit with the buyers. This is still early days though, and its not uncommon for carmakers to register very high bookings during the initial few months of a car’s launch. The real test for the Verna would be to match and exceed the numbers posted by the City, Vento and SX4 in a sustained manner.
H. W. Park, MD & CEO, HMIL, said, “It is a matter of great pride for us to have received such an encouraging response for our recently launched Fluidic Verna. The Verna has many first-in-segment features and our customers have received the new Verna with unparalleled enthusiasm.”
