Hyundai Motor India is working on strategies to improve its supply as the Indian arm of the South Korean car maker is reportedly talking to Rajasthan government to set up a manufacturing plant in the region. With this new plant in operation, Hyundai Motors India can expand its output, resulting in better delivery process of the vehicles. Now although the company has denied any such plans, sources suggest that the car maker is already in talks with Bureau of Investment Promotion in Rajasthan.

Currently, the entire load of domestic and export production is borne by Hyundai’s Chennai plant. The new plant will bump up the current total production of vehicles considerably along with offering ease of transport to the northern states.

Talking to Autocar Professional, a source said, “Hyundai’s preference for any location other than South India is logical as it would try to set up its second manufacturing facility in either the northern (Rajasthan/Delhi NCR) or western regions (Gujarat) to gain from better, timely deliveries of its cars across the country. While a delegation from Hyundai Motor India had earlier taken a close look of various sites in Gujarat, they are now scanning the possible locations in Rajasthan.”

This new development, whenever fructifies, should help Hyundai Motors India reduce the waiting period. Moreover, Hyundai Motors India can cope up with the rising demand from the overseas market as it caters to around 85 countries across Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia and the Asia Pacific.
