Honda’s OG Mothership Gold Wing Tour Has Landed On Our Shores!

A two-wheeled mother ship, the big daddy Honda Gold wing or the GL1800 is a popular offering from Honda. In 2018, it received a generation update and is now currently into its 5th-gen avatar. Honda has launched the 2021 Gold Wing Tour in India at INR 37.20 Lakh, while the top-of-the-line DCT Airbag variant is priced at a whopping INR 39.16 Lakh. Starting today, Honda has opened the bookings for 2021 Gold Wing Tour at its exclusive premium dealerships – BigWing Topline.

The new model will make its way to the Indian market through CBU* route from Japan (*Completely Built-Up). As we mentioned earlier, the 2021 Gold Wing Tour will be available in two variant options – Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) with airbag & Manual Transmission.

The luxury touring motorcycle receives a reworked and enhanced comfort for the passenger seat. The Tour models from the GL1800 line up also get a redesigned backrest and a more relaxed backrest inclination angle for the passenger seat. The profile has also been made taller and the improved adding also makes the passenger seat a better place. The Tour models get synthetic leather seat covers.

Talking about practicality, Honda has also bumped up the storage space. The top of the line Tour models get an additional 11 litres of storage in the top box taking the total storage amount to 61 litres. The seats on the Tour model get a suede cover and the Standard Gold Wing and the Gold Wing DCT get seat piping for contras

The 7-inch full-colour TFT liquid crystal display screen provides all the information for the audio and navigation systems, as well as managing riding modes and suspension adjustment. Information is displayed in differentiated segments in a very functional order, so the rider can get all the relevant data with the minimum of eye movement. Brightness adjusts automatically and the rider can also choose from 8 brightness levels. Tyre pressure is displayed as a numerical figure in the bottom left area of the instruments. The Smart Key activates all the motorcycle’s systems and incorporates the emergency key. The ignition and handlebar lock can be turned on/off while just carrying it. The Gold Wing Tour is compatible with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, so the rider can utilise the personalised information and content inside their smartphone.

Mechanically, it is powered by the same 1833cc, flat 6 cyl, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 123BHP @5500 RPM of peak power and 170Nm @4500 RPM of peak torque. This comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with electric reverse gear and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. It gets discs on both brakes with dua channel ABS. It gets a double-wishbone setup at the front and a pro-link setup at the rear.
