Hyundai is widely known for making cars, but the company is also working on projects that support public healthcare in India. Its CSR arm, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), has now upgraded the Intensive Surgical Care Unit at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai. The project brings new medical equipment, training for hospital staff and better facilities that can help doctors treat patients more efficiently.

HMIF has invested Rs 3.07 crore under its Sparsh Sanjeevani healthcare programme. The support includes the supply and installation of 169 advanced medical devices inside the hospital’s Intensive Surgical Care Unit.
The hospital receives more than 10,000 outpatients every day, making it one of the busiest government hospitals in India. The new equipment is expected to improve emergency and critical care services for a large number of patients.
