After a long wait, several teaser campaigns, leaked renders and plenty of predictions, Nissan has finally taken the wraps off the all new Tekton in India. The new midsize SUV enters one of the country’s busiest segments and brings fresh styling, two turbo petrol engine options, a long equipment list and a confirmed 5 star Bharat NCAP safety rating. Bookings have started across India, while deliveries will begin from July 20.
The Tekton is also the sister model of the Renault Duster, but Nissan has given it its own styling and identity. The SUV also marks an important product for the company as it expands its lineup in the Indian market.

The Tekton has a completely different look compared to the Duster. Nissan has taken inspiration from the larger Patrol SUV for the front design.

Two Turbo Petrol Engine Choices
The Tekton is available with two turbo petrol engines.
The first is a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine producing 100 PS and 166 Nm. It comes only with a six speed manual gearbox and delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4 kmpl.
The second option is a 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine producing 163 PS and 280 Nm. Buyers can choose either a six speed manual or a six speed DCT automatic. Nissan claims 17.8 kmpl for the manual and 18.5 kmpl for the DCT version.

5 Star Bharat NCAP Safety
Safety is one of the strongest points of the new Tekton. Nissan has confirmed a 5 star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant protection.
The SUV shares its platform and safety structure with the Renault Duster, allowing it to receive the same crash safety certification. Along with the strong rating, buyers also get six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX child seat mounts, TPMS, hill assist, parking sensors, a 360 degree camera and Level 2 ADAS on selected variants.
