Facelifted Hyundai i20 revealed. Finally!

Our regular readers must be aware how eagerly we were waiting to lay our eyes on the i20 facelift that we have been talking about a lot.

We have always liked the way Hyundai i20 looks. The car is distinctively European in appearance with a pleasant and inoffensive styling. The looks make a clear departure from the styling seen on Hyundais of yore. With the facelifted version finally revealed, Hyundai’s new found design language can now be clearly seen in the front fascia. The headlights now look much more upmarket and sleek. The new front bumper houses a set of new fog lamps. The car also gets a new hood. Talking about the rear, the car gets a new bumper and new motif in the tail lamps. Personally speaking, the rear of the car somehow reminds me of Puegeots and Seat cars and this has to be a good thing. The new rims look even tastier than the previous ones. The i20 refresh should see some changes in its interiors styling.

In India, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, country’s leading car manufacturer, launched the all new generation of Swift hatchback some time back. We also saw Honda making some aggressive cuts in the pricing of its premium hatchback, the Jazz. This all is known to have made some impact on sales of the i20 and the  refreshed i20 looks capable of bringing more buyers to Hyundai dealerships. Also, it is perfect time for Hyundai to introduce some performance upgrades with the facelift. It may be noted that the 6 speed transmission on the diesel version of the car was recently axed as Hyundai felt that it was eating into sales of its elder sibling, the Verna. We will really like to see it back on duty in the refreshed i20. And when at it, we would also want our i20 to out-handle the competition. Ah! If wishes were horses…

Anyway, the refreshed i20 will be seen at the Geneva Motor Show.

  2. company don't understand the diffrence bettween low and high frist i10 then verna , sonata and now i20 hope so they don't have budget to design somthing else.
