Of late, Ducati has made it sufficiently clear that it considers India as one of its growth markets for the years to come, and has even worked towards developing a new middleweight bike to suit the preferences of the Asian riders.

The Monster 795 streetfighter machine that the Italian bike maker unveiled a few months back at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia will hopefully be launched in India at the 12th Auto Expo. The Ducati Monster 795 will be powered by an 803cc L-twin, air cooled motor which is capable of producing 85 bhp of power at 8250 RPM and 78 Nm of torque at 6250 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The bike will be assembled in Thailand and will be made available in various markets including Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Thailand, Philippines and India. There are rumors that Ducati India plans to launch this motorcycle at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo with a price tag of Rs. 5 lakh (ex-showroom)

Apart from the India specific 795, the entire Ducati lineup available for India will be exhibited at the Expo. The 1198, Diavel, Multistrada and 848 Streetfighter will all make it to the Expo. However, among these exotic machines, the 1199 Panigale will most definitely be the biggest eye candy. The big V-twin superbike, boasting the lowest power to weight ratio for any production motorcycle was arguably the most exciting international bike launch of the year 2011. We’ll to have a look at this beauty is a technology showcase for Ducati.
