Maruti Suzuki India Limited registered a YoY growth of 9.7 percent in its passenger vehicle sales for the month of November 2015. The company sold a total of 120,824 units in November 2015, including 110,599 units in the domestic market and 10,225 units in exports. The Company had sold a total of 110,147 units in November 2014.
The growth for Maruti Suzuki was driven primarily by the Baleno which is an all new product in what the carmaker calls the A: compact segment. This specific segment has the highest share among all the categories the carmaker sells its products in. The launch and strong reception of the Baleno, along with strong performance by models like the Swift and Dzire added greatly to the growth, with the segment receiving a YoY growth rate of 69.1%. The entry level A: Mini segment saw a negative growth of 4.7%.
Percentage wise, another category that saw exceptional growth was the B: utility vehicles category comprising the Gypsy, Ertiga and S-Cross. Although the numbers in this segment are not very high, the introduction of the S-Cross, along with strong sales for the Ertiga led to a growth of 57.5% which is very impressive.
