Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the updated 2025 V-Strom 800DE at ₹10.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The middleweight ADV now complies with OBD-2B emission norms and gets a cosmetic refresh with three new colourways. While the core mechanicals remain unchanged, Suzuki has doubled down on making it more appealing for the adventure-hungry Indian rider.
What’s New for 2025?
Visually, the 800DE now sports a fresh look with three striking paint schemes:
- Pearl Tech White with blue spoke wheels,
- Champion Yellow No. 2 with black panels and blue rims,
- Glass Sparkle Black with red and grey graphics on black rims.
These updates don’t just make it pop on trails but also add a premium edge to an already rugged design.

Built for Real Adventure
Powering the V-Strom 800DE is a 776cc parallel-twin, DOHC motor with a 270-degree crank. It pumps out linear torque low down and revs cleanly up top, delivering a riding feel that’s more V-twin than parallel-twin.
The steel frame is purpose-built for stability on highways and agility off-road. Showa-sourced adjustable suspension at both ends offers 220 mm of travel, making it the longest-travel V-Strom ever. The same goes for the 220 mm ground clearance—tallest in the V-Strom family. Add to that 21-inch front wire-spoke wheels, Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres, and you’ve got a bike that can properly hit the dirt.
Tech to Back the Torque
The 800DE gets Suzuki’s full electronics suite:
- Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS)
- Three riding modes via SDMS
- Traction control with a dedicated gravel mode
- Bi-directional quick shifter
- Ride-by-wire throttle
- Two-level ABS
- Low RPM assist and Easy Start system
A generous 20-litre tank offers ample touring range, further solidifying its status as a proper ADV tourer.
Rivals in Sight
The V-Strom 800DE competes directly with the Honda Transalp 750, Triumph Tiger 850 Sport, and the BMW F 850 GS. At its current price, it undercuts most while offering more off-road-focused hardware and rider aids.
Our Thoughts
The 2025 V-Strom 800DE doesn’t shout for attention but quietly screams capability. It’s one of those bikes that’ll go the distance, sip fuel, and come back asking for more dirt. The new colours are a nice touch, but it’s the long-travel Showa setup and that 270-degree crank motor that truly steal the show. Now, if only Suzuki threw in tubeless spoked wheels—because fixing a puncture in the middle of Ladakh is no one’s dream adventure story.
