This is how the 2015 Lamborghini Cabrera, Gallardo replacement, could look like

What we have here today is a speculative render of upcoming 2015 Lamborghini Carbera, which will become the successor of the very popular Gallardo.

The Carbera concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. The Cabrera is expected to hit showrooms in later half of 2014 and the car is expected to be joined by the new gen Audi R8 in 2015. The new R8 will share its lightweight multi-material platform with the new Gallardo.

This multiple material platform will not be entirely made up of aluminum or carbon fiber. Instead, the platform will use both aluminium and carbon fibre components, with some fiberglass thrown in to to make a sturdy and light structure. This platform will be have a weight figure equivalent to that of a full carbon structure. On the same hand, the platform will be significantly cheaper to manufacture.

The 2015 Lamborghini Cabrera is expected to have a shorter wheelbase than the second gen Audi R8. The new Gallardo should also be lighter and could have a sub- 3,300-pound kerb weight.

The current 5.2-liter V-10 motor is likely to be carried over, albeit, with significant updates. Hence, the motor will deliver more power and lesser emissions. Max power output could be pegged at 592 hp and the car is likely to a LP 600-4. It may be noted that an engine with similar specs was unveiled witht the Egoista concept. The car is expected to be launched in an all wheel drive layout, with rear wheel drive making an entry some time later. The motor will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The car could take design cues from the Egoista and the Sesto Elemento. It is being said that the Egoista’s active flaps are almost sure to make an appearance on the new Gallardo.
