2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 India launch in April 2013

Tata-owned British car maker Land Rover recently revealed the 2013 model of its popular Freelander 2 compact SUV. The new Freelander 2 gets some revisions to the exterior and interior styling among other things. The car also gets a new 2.0L petrol engine, which is 40 kgs lighter than the outgoing motor. The new power plant produces a healthy 240PS-340Nm. Other than generating more power, the new engine has reduced CO2 emissions. Servicing interval too has been increased from 15,000 miles to 16,000 miles.

The updated Freelander 2 gets three new color options. On the inside, the car gets a new console, 7- inch color touch screen with Meridian audio system, a 7 day timed climate control system and an optional satellite navigation system. The car also gets Rear view parking assist mirror, a new passive start system and an intelligent parking brake system. The highlight of the new features list is a new voice activation system which is named as “Say What You See’’. The Si6 will be replaced by the turbocharged Si4 motor which is same in format as the one used in the Range Rover Evoque.

Various sources have been saying it that the updated Freelander is on its way to India and will be launched in April 2013.
