Indian car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported its year on year sales numbers for the month of Februayr. According to the reported numbers, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 118,551 units in February 2015. This includes 107,892 units in domestic market and 10,659 units in exports, reporting a year-on-year growth of 8.7 percent. The company had sold a total of 109,104 units in February 2014.
The highest growth was reported in the mid-size sedan segment with the introduction of the new Ciaz. Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 5,410 units of the mid-size sedan in the month of February 2015 against 228 units during same period last year, a growth of 2272.8 percent.
The worst affected were the compact sedans which saw negative year-on-year growth in the month on February 2015. The car maker sold 42,778 units of compact sedans during February 2015 against 45,721 units during same period last year.
