The upcoming compact SUV, Tivoli, from Mahindra SsangYong has been spotted testing in India for the first time. We all know how the Tivoli looks and where it is placed, since it has already been launched in other countries. The Tivoli is the first compact global SUV by the Korean car-maker, and also SsangYong’s first new model under Mahindra & Mahindra ownership. Mahindra codenamed the Tivoli as the XUV 100.
A couple of weeks ago Mahindra revealed the official images of their KUV 100. In September, Mahindra launched their TUV 300, following the both the events, Tivoli will be the third compact SUV offering from the car maker. Owing to its size shape and features Mahindra will place the Tivoli in the ‘premium’ segment of compact SUVs. The Tivoli will be up against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Nissan Terrano.
As seen in the spyshots the Tivoli retains the exact dimensions, but seems to ride low, the reason might be that the SUV is loaded for testing purposes. In the KUV 100 event, Mahindra also unveiled the new mFalcon family of engines, consisting of both petrol and diesel powermills with cubic capacity of 1.2, 1.5 and 1.6 litre. The 1.6 litre version of the home grown engines will power the upcoming Tivoli.
