Good news for premium car fans as the Ninth gen Honda Accord will officially make a comeback to India this year. Showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, the car that will land on our shores will be the American version that has been recently refreshed.
On the outside, the 9th generation Honda Accord gets a reworked chrome garnished front grille, revised bumpers, slightly reshaped bonnet, new 19-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, taillights and headlights; the latter being identical to the ones found on the Acura TL.
The interior features an all-new 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen interface that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Just above this screen, is another, even larger 7.7-inch display which allows you to access the audio settings, turn-by-turn directions, LaneWatch and incoming calls, among other things. Other notable features in this cabin include automatic rain-sensing wipers, heated and 60:40 split folding rear seats.
The 2016 Honda Accord comes armed with Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Depending upon the market, the new Honda Accord gets two engine and three transmission options. One is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder, direct-injected VTEC petrol engine that comes paired with either a CVT or a 6-speed manual transmission. The more powerful 3.5-litre V6 petrol unit can be had with either a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
