Ford India’s combined domestic wholesales and exports grew to 26,408 vehicles in August, up from 21,520 vehicles in August 2015. Exports grew to 17,860 units for the month, compared to 13,189 units last year, while domestic wholesales remained stable at 8,548 units for the month, compared to 8,331 units last year.

Also in August, Ford lowered prices for its compact sedan Ford Aspire and Figo hatchback. According to the company, orders for both vehicles have increased since the change. Ford also commenced sales of the Ford Endeavour SUV in Delhi/NCR after the ban on diesel car registration was lifted.

Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Mehrotra, Executive Director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, said that their increasing export numbers and strong domestic sales prove that the vehicles they build in India are true global products that appeal to customers in India and around the world.

He further added, “As part of our transition into an auto and mobility company, the investment in Zoomcar provides Ford with immediate entry into the mobility services space in India. It’s our vision to make it easier for people to move in cities using multiple modes of transportation.”
