Imagine trying to park a car on a narrow European street, with another car close behind and very little space ahead. This is the sort of daily situation Nissan seems to have kept in mind while developing the new Pixo. The small electric car has now been revealed for Europe, with customer deliveries planned from early 2027.
The Pixo is a new A segment EV developed by Nissan with Renault. It will be built at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia. Nissan has given the car compact dimensions, a flexible cabin and an electric powertrain suited to city use.
Compact size and different design
The Pixo measures 3,796mm long and 1,790mm wide. Its wheelbase is 2,492mm, while ground clearance stands at 140mm. The car has a 9.9 metre turning circle.
Its design uses cube like proportions, pixel style lights and a front bumper with what Nissan calls a robot face. The 18 inch wheels also get pixel inspired details. Wonder Purple and Gear Blue are among the available colours.
Some other design details include:
- 2 and 3 markings inspired by the Japanese pronunciation of Nissan
- Nissan lettering across the tailgate
- 23 visual Easter eggs placed around the car
- Black exterior trim on selected areas
Cabin gets useful features
The Pixo has a four adult seating layout and sliding rear seats. These seats can move forward or backward, allowing owners to create more luggage space when required. Boot capacity is 356 litres, including a 50 litre area for the charging cable. With the rear seats folded, the figure rises to 1,221 litres.
The dashboard has a 7 inch driver display and a 10 inch touchscreen. Physical controls are provided for the climate system, while the gear selector is placed behind the steering wheel.
Google built in is available, along with Google Gemini voice assistance. Nissan says Gemini will support 16 languages and dialects. The MyNissan app can be used for charging, navigation and vehicle functions. Face ID can also recognise drivers and load their personal settings.
Safety and driver assistance equipment includes:

Battery, range and charging
Power comes from a 27.5kWh LFP battery connected to a single electric motor. The motor produces 60kW, which is around 82hp. Nissan has not yet shared the torque or acceleration figures.

The Pixo supports 50kW DC charging as standard. Nissan says a 15 to 80 percent charge takes about 28 minutes. It also gets 11kW bi directional AC charging, which can be useful for home and workplace charging.
Deliveries from early 2027
Nissan has not announced the price yet. Pricing, market specific specifications and pre order details are expected to be announced from December. Deliveries across Europe are scheduled to begin in early 2027.
The Pixo gives Nissan a smaller electric model for city driving, while its partnership with Renault helps bring the car to production through the Novo Mesto facility in Slovenia.
