For more than a century, the sound of a Bentley engine has been part of the brand’s identity. Big V8s and W12s have powered some of its most famous cars. Now, Bentley has taken a very different step. The company has officially unveiled the Torcal, its first fully electric model.
The new SUV was revealed in London and will be built at Bentley’s factory in Crewe, UK. It is the brand’s fourth model line and sits below the Bentayga in the range. The Torcal is expected to reach India in the second half of 2027, with an estimated price of around Rs 4.5 crore, ex-showroom.
Bentley Torcal exterior
The Torcal has a long bonnet, short overhangs and a low SUV shape. It measures around five metres in length and has a wheelbase of just over three metres. Bentley has also given the car a new illuminated grille with diamond-style elements behind a clear panel.
Some other exterior details include:
- Slim tail-lamps connected by a U-shaped design
- 21-inch wheels as standard on the regular model
- 22-inch wheels on the Torcal S
- Five wheel designs with several finish options
- A 90-litre front storage area
- A 460-litre rear boot
- Hand-operated charging flap
- New Bentley emblem
The car is 120mm shorter than a standard-wheelbase Bentayga and sits 50mm lower. Its cabin tapers towards the rear, giving more visual width around the rear wheels.
Cabin and comfort
The cabin mixes leather, wool, aluminium and wood. A curved OLED display sits across the centre of the dashboard and flows towards the centre console. Bentley has also retained physical buttons and rotary controls for several functions.
The seats get 16-way adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage. Optional systems can adjust the seat shape and temperature for longer journeys.

- Good legroom and headroom
The Torcal also gets a switchable-glass Frosted Diamond sunroof.
Electric power and battery
The Torcal uses an 800V electrical system and a 113kWh battery. Two permanent-magnet motors send power to all four wheels.

The Torcal can add around 161km of range in seven minutes using a 400kW charger. Such charging speeds are not widely available in India yet.
Ride, technology and sound
Bentley has fitted fully active suspension and rear-wheel steering. The rear wheels can turn by up to five degrees, helping reduce the turning circle to 11.1 metres.
The SUV also gets 25 radars, sensors and cameras. It can assist with parking, towing and reversing through narrow roads.

The car also creates its own sound using drums, viola and bass guitar. Bentley calls it Dynamic Symphony. The system changes with speed and torque demand and can also be switched off.
The optional Naim audio system has 28 speakers, 1,780W of power, Dolby Atmos 7.1 and seat shakers.
Bentley Torcal India launch
The Torcal will be produced in Crewe on a new production line created after a £350 million investment. Bentley says the facility supports thousands of local jobs and uses more than 700 suppliers.
For Indian buyers, the Torcal will bring a very different Bentley experience. It has no V8, no W12 and no petrol engine option. There is only electric power, but the cabin, materials, performance and handcrafted details still carry the familiar Bentley treatment.
The first electric Bentley is now a reality. The bigger question will be how it feels on the road. That answer will come when the Torcal reaches India and gets driven in real conditions.
