Hyundai is keeping the upcoming Bayon in the news with a steady stream of new details. After confirming the SUV’s name and revealing the exterior and interior design sketches yesterday, the company has now released the first teaser of the production-ready model. The new video gives a closer look at the front lighting setup of the SUV.
The teaser shows the Bayon in a deep red shade, with the LED daytime running lights taking most of the attention. Hyundai calls this design the H-Edge lighting signature. The company has also referred to the Bayon as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle for the Indian market.
New H-Edge Lighting Design
The front lighting has a split design. A horizontal LED element sits higher on the front and may also work as a turn indicator. There is also a smaller vertical lighting unit placed towards the side. The full front end has not been shown yet, so details of the grille and lower bumper are still to be seen.
Hyundai’s earlier design sketches give a better idea of the rest of the front section. The SUV gets a sculpted bonnet, wide fenders, sharp lines and chunky lower sections. The design follows Hyundai’s Art of Steel theme, which the company says has been used to give the SUV a strong and modern shape.
What The Spy Images Have Shown
The teaser is not the first look at the Bayon. Test vehicles have already been seen on Indian roads, giving away a few more details.

The rear lighting is also expected to follow a split design, based on earlier test vehicle images. However, Hyundai has not yet released the complete production-spec rear design.
Cabin And Features
Hyundai has already shown an interior sketch of the Bayon. It gives a look at the dashboard layout, steering wheel and digital screens. Reports based on test vehicles suggest the production version could get twin 12.3-inch displays, while other expected equipment includes connected features and ADAS technology.
The earlier interior preview from Hyundai shows a technology-focused dashboard designed around daily use. The company has not yet confirmed the full feature list or variant-wise equipment.
Petrol And CNG Options
The powertrain information is not fully official yet. Reports suggest that the Bayon could use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options. A factory-fitted CNG version has also been reported, with the CNG tank placed under the floor.
If introduced as reported, the Bayon would give Hyundai another option in the midsize SUV segment, positioned below the Creta. Reports also suggest that the SUV could measure around 4.18 metres in length and may also be offered with a CNG powertrain as a more economical option.
Hyundai has not announced the exact launch date, pricing or complete India-spec specifications yet.
