After multiple spy shots, teasers and plenty of talk around Ather’s new scooter, the company has finally taken the wraps off the Konarc. It has been launched in India at Rs 99,999, ex showroom, and becomes the first production scooter to use Ather’s new EL platform.
The Konarc is available in different versions, with the cheaper S range offering different battery sizes. Ather has also announced Z versions with more equipment.
Price And Range
There are three Konarc S models with prices announced at launch.
- Konarc S 100 costs Rs 99,999
- Konarc S 125 costs Rs 1,21,999
- Konarc S 161 costs Rs 1,44,999
- A 200km S version is also planned
- Z versions will be available with 125km and 161km IDC range
- Z variant prices have not been announced yet
The 125km and 161km S versions will reach customers from September 2026. The 100km version is scheduled for Q1 2027, while the 200km model is planned for Q3 2027. Z variants are expected to start deliveries in Q2 2027.

Three Battery Options
The S 100 uses a 2.1kWh battery, while the S 125 gets a 2.7kWh unit. The S 161 has the biggest 3.5kWh battery.
Here is what the three versions offer:
- S 100 has 4kW peak power
- S 125 and S 161 produce 4.7kW
- Maximum torque stands at 16Nm
- Claimed IDC range goes up to 161km
- A 200km version will be added later
- Top speed is 70kmph on the three announced S models
- All versions get SmartEco, Eco and Power modes
Ather says the battery and motor are IP67 rated. The battery also sits inside an aluminium casing.
Charging Gets Easier
One of the biggest changes is the 450W onboard charger. It is fitted into the scooter itself, so the rider does not always need to carry a separate charger.
There is also an option to add another 450W charger. Using both chargers together takes the total charging output to 900W.
The claimed 0 to 80 percent charging time with the standard charger is 4 hours for the S 100, 4 hours 30 minutes for the S 125 and 5 hours 40 minutes for the S 161.
With the additional charger, these times drop to around 2 hours, 2 hours 25 minutes and 3 hours 10 minutes.
More Room For Daily Use
The Konarc has a 31 litre underseat boot, which should be useful for regular shopping and other everyday items. There is also an 18W USB Type C port and an underseat light. The scooter uses a 14 inch front wheel and a 12 inch rear wheel. Suspension travel measures 90mm at the front and 100mm at the rear.
Its 1,352mm wheelbase is also the longest among Ather scooters. A padded grab handle and backrest are available on the higher versions.
Braking And Technology
Ather has added its Advanced Electronic Braking System, or AeBS, to the Konarc Z. The company says the system can increase peak braking force by up to 20 percent and help reduce rear wheel locking during hard braking.
The Z models also bring features such as MagicKey, which lets riders access the boot through the Ather app. The Konarc Z 161 gets AutoPop for the boot as well.
Other features include Google Maps, WhatsApp, theft and tow alerts, Find My Scooter, remote charging information and OTA updates.
EL Platform
The Konarc is important for Ather because it is the first production model built on the EL platform. Ather says the platform was developed after collecting 26 lakh kilometres of field data.
The company has also reduced the number of components used in the architecture. According to Ather, this can make assembly around 15 percent faster and periodic servicing up to twice as quick.
Service intervals are now longer too, with maintenance required every 10,000km or one year.
