  • Over 50 parliamentarians and dignitaries participated in the event.
  • The rally followed a TSD format, promoting disciplined driving.

The 9th JK Tyre-Constitution Club of India Car Rally was flagged off in New Delhi today, bringing together parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and journalists for a common cause—road safety. The event, which started from the Constitution Club of India (CCI), saw participation from over 50 Members of Parliament, including Anurag Thakur, Nishikant Dubey, and Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The rally paid tribute to policymakers who lost their lives in road accidents while reinforcing the importance of responsible driving.

A Rally with a Purpose

Since its inception in 2010, the rally has served as a platform to highlight India’s alarming road accident statistics. Participants stopped at a Traffic Park to revisit basic road safety rules and test their knowledge of traffic signs. Adding to the event’s grandeur, a display of vintage and classic cars captivated the audience.

India has the second-largest road network in the world, and politicians spend a significant portion of their time on the road, traveling for campaigns and official duties. However, time constraints, fatigue, and high-speed travel make them vulnerable to accidents. The event underscored the need for strict traffic discipline and enhanced road safety policies.

TSD Format Encourages Safe Driving

The rally followed the TSD (Time, Speed, Distance) format, emphasizing precision over speed. Each team, consisting of a driver and navigator, had to maintain a specific speed and reach checkpoints on time. The format ensured participants adhered to legal speed limits and traffic regulations, reinforcing the message of disciplined driving.

A Collective Call for Safer Roads

Dignitaries at the event stressed the urgent need for road safety awareness. Shri Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, highlighted that such rallies play a vital role in educating the public. Anshuman Singhania, MD of JK Tyre, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to advocating safe driving through awareness campaigns and product innovations.

The rally received support from IOCL, GAIL, Union Bank of India, BPCL, and other organizations, further strengthening its impact. The event will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners will be felicitated by Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla and JK Tyre’s Anshuman Singhania.
