KTM has set hearts racing with the launch of the much-anticipated Gen 3 390 Duke in India, priced at Rs 3,10,520 (ex-showroom). This latest iteration comes bearing an array of enhancements, and while it commands a premium over its predecessor. However, the new features more than justify the investment.
Enhanced Powerhouse Of The KTM 390 Duke
The beating heart of this beast is an all-new 399cc engine, now generating a formidable 45hp and 39Nm of torque. This slight power surge, an increase of 1.5hp and 2Nm, promises an even more exhilarating ride.
Reengineered Frame and Suspension
A brand-new trellis frame embraces this powerhouse, now complemented by an aluminum sub-frame. The suspension system has been meticulously redesigned, with a revised upside-down fork and an offset monoshock attached to a revamped swingarm.

KTM 390 Duke Elevated Riding Experience
The 390 Duke’s aesthetic has been redefined, with attention to detail evident in the redesigned tank extensions and headlight region. Beyond the surface, riders can now choose from three distinct modes: Rain, Street, and Track, each offering progressively sharper power delivery. Track mode introduces launch control, elevating the thrill. Standard features now include traction control, cornering ABS, and a bi-directional quickshifter.
KTM 390 Duke Pricing and Competition
Considering the magnitude of these enhancements, the Rs 13,000 price increment is more than justified, placing the 390 Duke at an attractive Rs 3.11 lakh. While the TVS Apache RTR 310 offers unique features at a lower price point (Rs 2.43 lakh to 2.64 lakh). However, it doesn’t quite match the performance prowess of the KTM.
Welcome Addition: Gen 3 KTM 250 Duke
In tandem with the 390 Duke, KTM has also introduced the updated 250 Duke. Boasting similar enhancements, it retains the tried-and-tested 249cc engine. Priced at Rs 2,39,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it represents a mere Rs 779 increase over its predecessor.
Enthusiasts can secure their bookings on the KTM India website with an initial payment of Rs 4,500. What’s more showrooms are set to welcome these powerhouses by mid-September.
The Gen 3 390 Duke stands as a testament to KTM’s unwavering pursuit of innovation, promising riders an unparalleled experience on the open road. Get ready to unleash the thrill!
