Mahindra is gearing up to launch the new Bolero Neo Plus SUV by September 2023. Basically, it is the facelift version of the TUV300 Plus which was on sale for a few years.

The target audience of the new Bolero Neo Plus will come from Tier-2 cities. It will be an ideal SUV for those looking for a bigger vehicle than Bolero with more seats.

New SUV in the Mahindra Bolero Range

Mahindra discontinued the old Bolero Neo Plus known as the TUV 300 Plus in 2020. The reason for the discontinuation of the SUV was the upcoming BS6 Emission Norms. After the BS6 implementation, the carmaker has launched a variety of new SUVs such as 2nd generation of Thar, Scorpio-N, and XUV700.

After launching a variety of new SUVs, Mahindra is working on relaunching the TUV300 Plus. But this time, the SUV will be marketed as Bolero Neo Plus. The new Bolero Neo Plus will get several cosmetic changes and more features than the previous model. After the launch, this SUV will become the third model in the Bolero range.

Variants and Powertrain Options

Mahindra will launch the new Bolero Neo Plus with plenty of variants. The target audience of this SUV will come from Tier-2 and rural markets. The variant line-up of the SUV will include 7-seater, 9-seater, and ambulance versions. With this variant line-up, the SUV will fulfill the various needs of the customers.

Meanwhile, the new Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will utilize the 2.2L 4-cylinder M-Hawk diesel engine. However, the Bolero Neo Plus will get a different state of tune than the other models. We expect that this engine will produce approx. 120hp of power and 280nm of torque.

However, the SUV will get a 6-Speed Manual Gearbox replacing its old 5-Speed Manual Gearbox. Unlike other models, the new Bolero Neo Plus will not get the 4WD option. The SUV will be available with the RWD option only.

Pricing, Position, and the Competition

In terms of the pricing, we expect that the range of the Bolero Neo Plus might start from Rs. 9 Lakhs Ex-showroom. The new Bolero Neo Plus will join the vast line-up of Mahindra which includes the Bolero Neo, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio N, and the XUV700.

However, this SUV is likely to sit below the Mahindra Scorpio Classic in the portfolio. The carmaker will launch the new Bolero Neo in the coming weeks.
