Hyundai has unveiled the updated version of its performance sedan, the Elantra N. The automaker has made several changes to the sedan’s aesthetics and powertrain. The performance variant of the Elantra is one of the attractions at the Auto Show in Shanghai, China.

Aesthetic tweaks in Elantra N
The new Hyundai Elantra-N features a host of cosmetic enhancements that enhances the sedan’s sporty character. The updated sedan gets the revised bonnet, lower variant headlights, and the updated N-Spec body kit. The updated Hyundai Elantra-N sits on new 19-inch wheels with an Alfa Romeo-inspired design and an N emblem on black caps.
Hyundai has updated the N body kit with sharper elements and red accents on the lower part of the vehicle. The red accents on the bumper splitters, side skirts, and rear bumper extensions enhance the contrast with the black accents on the bumpers. The result is a motorsport-inspired theme that also includes spoilers, diffusers, and dual exhaust pipes.

Powertrain and Suspension
The 2024 Hyundai Elantra-N is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder T-GDi turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 286hp of power and 392nm of torque coupled to either a 6-Speed Manual or an 8-Speed DCT gearbox. Further aiding the gearbox is the limited-slip differential preventing the loss of traction on the tracks.
This setup is tuned for hitting the ton in 5.3 seconds, while the top speed is restricted to 250km/h. Although, the carmaker has tweaked the suspension and brakes of the Elantra-N. Yet, it deserves a slew of tweaks in the chassis for sharper dynamics and agility.
Launch Timeline and Competition
The 2024 Hyundai Elantra-N is slated for its launch in the North American market by Q3 or Q4 of 2023. However, the brand will continue to sell the standard version of the Elantra with some updates. Hyundai will also introduce and sell the Elantra-N in Korea as the Avante-N and in Australia as the i30 N sedan.
