One of the leading car manufacturers, Honda is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their popular sedan, Amaze in India. In 2013, Honda debuted their compact sedan, Amaze in the Indian market. Since then, this car has performed well in terms of sales accounting for 53 % of sales of the company. The Amaze has gathered over 5.3 Lakh customers in 10 years. Now, Honda has updated the Amaze to comply with the latest emission norms and support E20 fuel.

The Honda Amaze is based on the standalone platform derived from the late 4th generation Honda City of India. According to Global NCAP’s crash test results, the Honda Amaze has achieved a 4-star safety rating. The Honda Amaze is loaded with safety features like 2-Airbags, seat belt warnings, ISOFIX mounts, overspeed alerts, ABS, and EBD. Honda has done an impressive job of creating a secure compact sedan specifically designed for the Indian market.

About Sales and Manufacturing of the Sedan
In April 2013, Honda launched the 1st Generation Honda Amaze, which went on to sell 2.6 lakh units by March 2018. Since its introduction in May 2018, the 2nd Generation Honda Amaze has sold 2.7 lakh units, cementing its position as one of the most popular brands in the country. The Honda Amaze is exclusively manufactured in India at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, catering to both domestic and export businesses.
The Tapukara plant produces the Made in India Honda Amaze, which is exported to South Africa and SAARC countries. With a robust network of 325 facilities across 236 cities in India, the Amaze has established a strong presence and popularity in Tier 2 and 3 markets, which account for 60% of the model sales in these regions.
About Powertrain, Warranty, and Pricing
Currently, the Honda Amaze is only available with 1 engine option and 2 transmission options. The car is equipped with a 1.2L 4-cylinder Naturally Aspirated i-vtec petrol engine, which is compliant with BS6 phase-2 norms. The engine generates 90PS of power and 110 Nm of torque output. You can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT transmission for the new Honda Amaze. The powertrain is compatible with E20 fuel and delivers fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl for the manual and 18.3 kmpl for the CVT version.
Honda is offering 3 year or unlimited km of standard warranty on the Amaze. The brand also ensures the minimal cost of maintenance of their cars for the peace of mind of customers. As per Honda, the existing Honda Amaze can also run on E20 fuel without the replacement of parts. The 2023 Honda Amaze is priced at Rs. 6.99-9.60 Lakhs Ex-showroom.
