Maruti Suzuki has officially commenced bookings for the 2022 Alto K10. Customers can book the upcoming Alto K10 via Maruti’s Arena showrooms or by visiting Maruti Suzuki’s official website for a token amount of ₹11000. The new Alto K10 will co-exist with the current Alto 800 and will also mark the return of the K10 moniker. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from Maruti’s newest offering:

Design
The new Alto K10 measures 3,530mm in length, 1,490mm in width, and 1,520mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,380mm. This makes it around 85mm longer, 45mm taller, and has a 20mm longer wheelbase when compared to the current Alto. However, its width remains the same at 1490 mm. It has a gross weight of 1,150 kg. The Alto K10 is based on Maruti’s Heartect platform which underpins other small cars from the carmaker. The Alto K10 gets a rounded design many design elements borrowed from the new Celerio. It gets a pair of sweptback halogen headlamps and large hexagonal grille in the front. Move to the side and you’ll notice the 13-inch wheels and flap type door handles. The rear is where many people would confuse it with the Celerio thanks to the taillamps.

Interior
The interior of the Alto K10 gets an all black theme with an upright dashboard. The talking point of the interior has to be the Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system. The touchscreen will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The front power window controls are placed below the touchscreen just like the Celerio as well. Other than this, the new Alto K10 offers features such as USB ports, a digital instrument cluster, manual A/C, ABS, dual airbags and ESP. The Alto K10 will be offered in 12 variants including STD, LXI, VXI, and VXI+. Each of these variants will get an optional (O) variant as well with additional safety features. The automatic trim will be available in VXI and VXI+ variants in addition to their respective (O) variants as well.

Powertrain
The new Alto will be powered by the 1.0-liter K10C DualJet engine that produces 67hp and 89Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT and also gets idle start/stop for improved fuel efficiency. Expect the hatchback to get class-leading fuel efficiency figures.
