We reported just two days back that Toyota car will become dearer by 20,000 today Maruti Suzuki India has also followed the same footsteps. Every automobile maker is crying over the cost of inputs going high hence they have to hike prices. This is not the first time Maruti Suzuki has hiked prices of their models, barely three months back Maruti Suzuki hiked prices of all their car line up by upto 8,000 leaving the Alto K10 which was newly launched.
This time around Maruti Suzuki has hiked prices of all the cars in their line up from M800 to Kizashi by upto Rs 9,000 and is effective since 4th April. Talking in terms of percentile it means 0.2 per cent to 2.4 per cent. Minimum increase is of Rs 1,100 and maximum of Rs 9,000 depending on the model. Maruti Suzuki supports this hike by the same excuse of increase in cost of inputs.
Similar steps were taken by Tata Motors by increasing prices by upto Rs 36,000 from April 1. Other car manufacturers are sooner expected to jump in the bandwagon of hiking with Hyundai expected to be the next. Tell us what do you think about constant prices hike in the automobile industry?
