TVS Phoenix 125 Launched @ INR 53000

| September 28, 2012 | 11 Comments

TVS has launched their new 125cc executive commuter bike for INR 53000 (Ex showroom Chennai). It may be noted that TVS is now ranked at the fourth place in Indian two-wheeler market and the new bike from the South India based manufacturer is an attempt to counter the rapidly declining sales.

Christened as the Phoenix 125, the new executive-commuter from Hosur based bike manufacturer bears close resemblance to the Radeon concept that we saw at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year. The panels of the new bike have borrowed a lot of design cues from the Star City. The TVS Phoenix, which looks like a more premium Star City, gets an all black treatment for engine & suspension, six spoke alloy wheels, LED pilot lamps, aircraft inspired graphics, petal front disc and digital speedo console. Powering the bike is a 124.8-cc, air-cooled engine that has a power-torque rating of 11PS-10 Nm. As expected the new bike comes with a competitive price tag of INR 53000 and will be seen competing with Bajaj Discover ST and Honda Shine.

Market has moved on from 4speed Gear Box to Five speed….looking at the design I wonder it was designed way back in early 2000's.

I see a lot in the frame, suspension, handle bar and overall ergonomics are of Ind Suzuki AX100.Could have been better if the design had slightly tail-up stance, Stylish fuel tank and tail ferring.
