Earlier in the day, we brought to you LIVE images and details from the unveiling event of the Gixxer motorcycle and Suzuki Let’s scooter held in Mumbai. The two new products from Suzuki Motorcycle India will play an important role in helping the global two-wheeler major create a big enough space for itself in the Indian market.
While superstar Salman Khan will be in the rider’s saddle to market the sharp looking Gixxer, the affable and bubbly Parineeti Chopra will be the brand ambassador for the Let’s scooter. Suzuki Gixxer and Let’s together will try and lift the sales of the Japanese bike maker in India, which is selling models like the GS150R, Hayate, Access and Swish in India.
Our man Hanoz Patel in addition to capturing the images for this article also brings to us the news that the two machines are not going to be launched anytime soon. While the Let’s scooter is almost ready for production, the Gixxer motorcycle is still undergoing some fine tuning. This is the reason why the final power and torque figures of the Gixxer motorcycle have not been revealed yet by Suzuki. The two bikes will be showcased at Suzuki Motorcycle India’s exhibit at the Auto Expo 2014. However, the launch dates for the Gixxer and Let’s is said to be closer to June 2014.
As you would assume, the pricing for the two bikes has not been revealed yet, as this was just an unveiling event. Suzuki had also launched the Inazuma 250 recently, and priced it at a rather steep 3.1 lakh rupees ex-showroom. With these two products slated for local production unlike the CBU Inazuma, we hope Suzuki will price them much more aggressively.
Expect Motoroids to bring more news and details about the two bikes when they are showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Stay tuned!
