We are unsure as to why Fiat is testing the car with camouflage when it has been already launched in the Indian market. The test mule sports black bumpers which gives us a hint of it being a base variant which could become a hit with the taxi fleet operators. On the outside, the car retains the fog lamps and body colored outer rear view mirrors.

As can be seen in the image above, the interiors of the car seem to be of a base variant. The steering wheel  has been stripped down of the audio controls. Also, the car doesn’t feature the audio system. Fiat Linea is priced from INR 6.99 lakh for the base petrol variant-Active. This Active variant is available with the 1.4 liter petrol engine. This spied base variant will be slotted below this Active variant and is likely to come with a factory fitted CNG kit. Fiat could also sell this variant with the 1.3 liter MJD for the taxi fleet operators.

  1. As usual, this is the kind of stupid moves we expect from Fiat India. A stripped down version of an already underpowered vehicle. now thats one heck of a combination.

So much untapped technology at their disposal and this is what they have installed for us! Awesome guys – great going!

Although I’m hoping against hope that they are testing the 1.6L MJD here.
