Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) would soon be launching the Maruti Ertiga Limited Edition, essentially an anniversary edition of its the seven seater MPV under the name Ertiga Feliz.
Slated to be released in VXI and VDI trims, the enhancements in the Ertiga Feliz include interior treatments such as blackwood finish garnish along the AC control edges, back seat multi pocket organizer, special door sills and seat covers and pillows and floor mats with Feliz badging.
On the exterior the Ertiga Feliz gets rear parking sensors with digital display, silver coloured grille and fog lamp inserts and outside rear view mirrors, rear spoiler and special body graphics.
As has been the tradition with limited edition cars in India, the enhancements on the Ertiga Feliz are pure cosmetic and the two variants would continue to be powered by the 1373cc K Series petrol and the 1248cc DDIS diesel engine producing 95 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 90 bhp @ 4000 rpm respectively.
The Maruti Ertiga alongwith the Suzuki Swift has seen sharp sales decline for the past few months, particular in April 2013. Also the recent launch of the Chevrolet Enjoy (read our review here) has added competition to the MPV segment. Cash discounts, freebies, exchange offers, corporate discounts were already being offered on the Ertiga to boost sales- but seems to have missed the targets. The launch of the anniversary edition Ertiga Feliz seems to be another step by MSIL to revive the dwindling sales figures.
Though prices of the Ertiga Feliz haven’t been announced yet, but expect a premium over the regular Ertiga considering the cosmetic improvements.
