Last generation Dzire becomes Dzire Tour. Goes on sale next month

As we had reported, the last gen Maruti Swift Dzire was not slated to go out of production with the introduction of the all new Swift Dzire based on the new generation of Swift hatchback. Like we told, the old Dzire goes to taxi market and in a trim that is far from being fully loaded and has to do with bare essentials. The last gen of Swift Dzire has been named as the Dzire Tour in its second innings of life. Essentially, the Dzire Tour is LXi/LDi variant of last gen Dzire sedan. The car comes with Aircon and power steering as standard features. What makes this model different from LXi/LDi (read: base model) of last gen Swift are the steel wheels, dark grey front & rear bumpers, outside rear-view mirrors and door handles.

The Dzire Tour comes with a price tag of Rs. 4.88 lakhs (petrol) and Rs 5.91 lakhs (diesel). The Dzire tour is cheaper to buy than both Tata Indigo XL and Mahindra Verito. This car can be bought only by taxi and fleet operators and the car goes on sale early next month. All this simply means that we will be seeing more of this odd looking car on our roads.
