In addition to its absolutely stunning showcase of some brand new products brimming with technology and innovation, hero also did what it’s better known for – introduce a facelift. The Hero Xtreme got a mild facelift in the form of the Hero Xtreme Sports. While the basic engine, transmission and design configuration remains the same as the stock Xtreme, the Sports version gets some cosmetic changes.
The new Xtreme Sports continues to be powered by the 149.2 air-cooled engine which dishes out peak power rated at 15.2bhp@ 8500 rpm and 12.80 Nm @ 6500 rpm. Changes to the bike include new graphics, restyled headlamp with LED pilot lamps and wider rear tyre.
The Xtreme Sports will be one of the many Hero products to be showcased at the 1014 Auto Expo. The 2014 Auto Expo is of great significance for hero Motocorp, as the Indian company is just months away from being completely on its own after the contract with Japanese Honda is terminated. It’s important that hero showcases the best of its technologies and products to instill enough confidence in the Indian customers with regards its technological prowess.
The Hero Xtreme Sports, in that context is not very significant, but as a product, still represents the world’s largest two-wheeler company in the very important 150cc segment. Check out the images of the restyled Hero Xtreme, aka Xtreme Sports below.
