DSK Motowheels and Benelli have created ripples in the Indian two-wheeler market since the launch of the DSK Benelli brand in March last year. Within a short span, the company has garnered a loyal fan following of superbiking enthusiasts. So far DSK-Benelli has sold 3,000 bikes in India with the TNT 600i being the fastest selling model from the brand, registering sales of 1,000 units.
Contrary to earlier reports, the company will introduce the Benelli 302R and the TRK 502 by the end of fiscal year 2016 – 17. The Benelli 302R launch was earlier rumoured to happen in the festive season. Both motorcycles were showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The Benelli 302R A.K.A. Tornado 302 is powered by the same 300 cc in-line 2-cylinder, 4-stroke engine as the TNT 300 but is tuned to deliver a peak power output of 35 HP at 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 26 Nm at 9000 rpm. The transmission, a 6 speed gearbox from the TNT 300 is carried over as well.
The TRK 502 adventure tourer on the other hand is powered by a 499.6cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine equipped with electronic injection. The engine spouts 48 PS at 8,500rpm and the maximum torque of 45 Nm at 4,500rpm. The power is sent to the wheels through a 6-speed gearbox with hydraulic clutch. The whole engine is fitted into a trellis frame and a large 20ltrs fuel tank is housed under the seat.

In order to cater to the increasing demand for its powerful and artistically styled superbikes, DSK Benelli’s current production capacity is 7,500 units per annum in a single shift. By the end of 2017, the production capacity would go up to 1,00,000 units per annum with a single shift.
DSK Benelli is set to open 15 more showrooms PAN India, of which showrooms will shortly be coming up in Siliguri, Baroda, Bhubaneshwar, Vijayawada, Lucknow and Agra. Furthermore, DSK Benelli will also look into entering Nagpur, Raipur, Patna, Udaipur, Calicut and Trivandrum with 3S facilities in the coming months.
