UM Renegade Commando

Bigger Renegade Commando with 350cc V-Twin Engine coming soon

By soon, we mean as soon as October this year. After a long wait United Motorcycles is all set to launch the 279cc water cooled mill that will power their current lineup of bikes. And this is just the beginning of all exciting things in store. Rajeev Mishra, Director of UM India and AMEA region has revealed that UM has plans to launch a bigger twin cylinder 350 cc engine soon. The presence of the V-Twin mill, which is a typical characteristic of American cruisers in the current line-up, will definitely be a huge boost to the brand.

Mishra in an unofficial tête-à-tête with BikeAdvice also revealed that the engine has already been developed and is currently undergoing testing. Nothing close to the 350cc V-Twin engine is available at the moment, apart from the Aquila 300 and this launch will allow UM to play in a bigger arena which is sure to give them a huge boost compared to other competing brands. The current 279cc single cylinder engine produces a maximum power of 25 bhp at 21.8 Nm of peak torque. These figures only raise our expectations further from the upcoming V-Twin.

The most exciting part about the upcoming launch of the V-Twin is that it is expected to power the entire Renegade lineup including the Renegade Commando. The upgrade may just as well make it the most affordable cruiser bike in its segment. The Renegade Commando and the Sport S are expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 1.2 Lakh – 2 Lakh.
