Fiat Small Car to Rival Maruti Alto. 2016 Launch

As we have been saying, Fiat is slowly but surely getting aggressive with its Indian operations. Regulars here might remember us reporting that the Italian car maker is planning to launch a compact crossover in Indian market and now, it has been confirmed that Fiat plans to also launch a small car in our highly competitive small car market.

Being called as the ‘Fiat Value World Car’, the new car will be a direct rival to the all new  Maruti Alto 800 and the Hyundai Eon. While Fiat wishes to offer a great value for money proposition with the upcoming small car, it won’t be positioning the new car against the Tata Nano.

The manufacturing processes of the upcoming small car would have heavy localization and the car will be sold from a stronger dealer network.  By 2016, the car maker plans to have a pan India presence through 112 dealers and the wider dealer network would also offer a much better after sales experience to Fiat car owners.
